Against Incest

There are no easy answers.

For nearly 100 years Cambodia had no peace: revolting against the French authorities, becoming part of the Vietnam War, the Killing Fields of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge, a civil war which lasting nearly 20 year (1979-1998) Cambodia has been devastated by war and death.

So much conflict has left the nation with little economic infrastructure causing the country to be ranked as one of the poorest nations in
the world.  INDC Gate
n fact, the average income in this nation is only around $1 per day.

Most men have been killed by the brutal regime of Pol Pot leaving numerous widows and orphans in the country. Struggling to survive, many of those widows remarried with men who are alcoholic and abusive. Cambodia is now a society which is full of step-fathers and step-mothers. With so much confusion and anger domestic abuse is prevalent in most families. We encounter so many underage girls being physically, emotionally and sexually abused by their step-fathers, step-brothers or other males who are close to the family. With this being the case it is almost as if they are living in slavery in their own homes, day in and day out, without being able to speak for themselves! Their lives are in danger by these ridiculous people.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves! Proverb 31:8

TransformAsia has developed the New Development Center to provide a safe haven for trafficked and abused girls, providing them a safe place to recover, rehabilitate, and rebuild their lives.  TransformAsia also runs the Battambang Trade School as a prevention project in order to give at risk girls the opportunity to learn a skill, realize their own self value, and avoid being drawn into the sex trade.
By partnering with us you can help us share God’s love with these women (girls) and you really can “change the world” for at least one young woman here in Cambodia! The financial cost for us to give these new women another shot at life is only $50 per month ($600 per year).  Please pray for these women and prayerfully consider joining us with a monthly contribution of $25 for a half sponsorship or $50 for a full sponsorship.  We want to ensure that they will not have to live a life of fear and shame.  We can ensure that these young girls will have a future and that they will have an opportunity to know that there is a God who loves them!

The New Development Center The New Development Center is dedicated to rescuing young women who have been abused and/or trafficked through the sex trade.  These girls come to us by referrals and by the Grace of God. Through our program we seek to begin the healing process for the girls’ emotional wounds by sharing with them the Love of Christ.  We provide for their needs, protect them, and give them new trade skills so that they can be returned to daily life in Cambodia knowing that they are loved by Christ. The Battambang Trade School At the Battambang Trade School we give work skills to girls who often feel they do not have value.  Because of this feeling many girls are dragged into the sex trade in a desperate bid to earn money to support their families. At the Trade School we share God’s love for them to let them know that there is hope for them and there is a God who always gives them value.  Through the training program they receive job skills that help them to work and stay away from the dangers of human trafficking.
