Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me?" He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep." ~John 21:16

Chan Lee Dormitory

Lee’s father was a man with integrity and compassion for the poor, especially for those students who might be potentially able to accomplish their education but cannot afford the lodging and food. During the 70’s, as Cambodia going through civil war, Chan Lee always would encourage Setan and his older brother, Mon Thy, to discover students that were academically excellent, but lacking in funding. As soon as the students were identified they informed their father and he always offered his support for those students.  He would rent an apartment for them to live together as a group and finance their school needs and food.

A few hours before his passing, Chan Lee indicated to Setan, that if he were able, he would like to give a helping hand to the poor students and assist them to achieve their education. He regretted that he was too old and powerless to achieve this dream. Setan assured him that TransformAsia would do its very best on his behalf to establish a system to support poor students in continuing their education.

This is the reason that TransformAsia has established a memorial fund in Chan Lee’s name, the Chan Lee Memorial Fund.  Our goal is to build a dormitory for poor students, in his memory, in his home province, Kampong Thom, Cambodia. We will call this dormitory as, “CHAN LEE’S DORMITORY.”

The cost of this project is estimated to be up to $30,000. We anticipate being able to host up to 100 students per year. You can be a part of this exciting journey with TransformAsia and the Lee family by making a tax-deductible donation.
