Years ago TransformAsia began rescuing girls from brothels. We soon realized that they would need to provide life skills, training and vocational opportunities for the girls to become self-supporting. So, they started the Women’s New development Center. This has become very successful and hundreds of young women have graduated over the years, getting jobs or opening their own shops. Many of these ladies are now happily married.

The Women’s Center is located outside a provincial capital on a quiet country road.

The beautiful compound is planted with palm trees and has several seating areas under arbors of flowers and smaller trees that create a peaceful setting. The guarded facility consists of several dormitories, a kitchen dining area, a single story building with classrooms and a meeting room and a multi story classroom building where the girls are taught cosmetology and sewing so that they can support themselves when they graduate after a one year stay.

The capacity of the Women’s Center is 80 girls. At the present we have less than thirty girls. This is because our funding has dropped as a result of the current financial crisis.
